Affiliate programs

Many companies offer commissions on sales initiated via links to their websites, and I participate in several of these programs. In these cases, if you follow a link from my site to another site and/or make a purchase, I may earn money for referring you.

Here are a couple of examples:

Links to Amazon.com

I participate in the Amazon.com Associates affiliate program. If you click a link on this site which takes you to Amazon.com and you make a purchase there, Amazon.com will pay me a commission for that sale.

BlueHost and Clicky

I pay for Web hosting at BlueHost.com and live Web statistics at Clicky. Additionally, I have joined the affiliate programs of both companies, so I will earn money if you buy their services via links from my site.

Ads by Google

I also participate in the Google AdSense program, which feeds advertisments into the spaces I designate. The ads themselves are chosen by Google based on Google's calculations about the content of each page. I earn varying commisions through these ads.

Reviews and recommendations

Any observations or recommendations I make about products, merchandise, creative works, events, or services here are my own personal impressions and opinions. They should not be considered typical or representative of anyone else, or of any company, regardless of whether they link to a product or service.

Links in general

Where possible, I try to cite sources and link liberally to external references where readers might find helpful additional information. For instance, even if I am reviewing a movie I did not like, I typically still link to some page about that movie. Links do not, by themselves, constitute an endorsement. They are primarily points of reference, just like footnotes.
